I have a request from all members that would like to play in upcoming events  and I also have a promise to make you all as well.

1.  If for some reason you get dropped or need to leave or just plain don’t want to play, let me know somehow please, so I can adjust or do whatever it takes to make sure were covered.   Thank you.

2.  I promise not to get us into another match where we are just plain out matched in ping and are destined for a painful defeat. I would like to see us all play more team games because I truly believe that we could do well if we just applied ourselves and actually started playing the game a little smarter. Playing team type matches is oh soooo different than playing FFA, you cant just run around shooting anything that moves, well you can but the outcome is not pretty.  Any players that want to invest a couple hours a week in a team practice let me know please and we will see if we can schedule something that will work for us all. I’m fully aware that we all have lives to lead and that it is a very hard thing to try to get us all together but we will not play at all well as a team if we don’t . I for one would really like to start seeing the W on our side of the table instead of our opponents.

Now don’t get me wrong here guys  its all about having fun and I don’t want us to get so serious about it that it becomes no fun anymore  but at the same time WE are a Quake Clan whether it be 1, 2 or 3 our love for the game is why we are all together and it would be great if we could play together as a team and I think we’d be surprised at the outcome.

Jim.HOPw and I have plans to hopefully make a database driven web page for our Clan.  Congrats to Jim also, he just got a new job at  http://rackspace.com/.  The plan for our page is to use PHP as the scripting language, mysgl as the database server, and apache as the web server running on Unix / Linux. Jim.HOPw is checking into getting HOPW.NET.BZ, HOPW.COM.BZ, and HOPW.ORG.BZ set up for us also.  Don't expect this to be anytime soon.  Jim is checking into getting permission to run the server and then he and I will work on developing a database.  We both are busy.  I will try to work as much as possible, but I'd say by the end of the summer would be a fairly good projection as to the timeline.  Then again ya never know.

First level was their choice q3ctf2 which they won 45 to 0. O.Mytz (53 ping) 184 score, O.Smee (93 ping) 181 score, O.pH7 (67 ping) 131 score, and O.Houdini (124 ping) 129 score. Topaz.HOPw (161 ping) 35 score, FatBastard.HOPw (320 ping) 15 score, DForce.HOPw (275 ping) 11 score, and QBall. HOPw (160 ping) 9 score.

Our choice was q3ctf1 which Clan Odyessy won 45 to 0.  O.pH7 (21ping) 152 score, ).Houdini (124 ping) 113 score, O.Mytz (55ping) 94 score, and O.Smee (88 ping) 89 score.  Topaz.HOPw (395 ping) 21 score, DForce.HOPw (192 ping) 9 score, Flesh.HOPw (173 ping) 2 score and QBall. HOPw (108 ping) 0 score. 

It was tough... VERY tough getting this match going this time. I had irc problems cuz their page had a missed link. Crater was wanting to play and had been one of the first to show up, but when I sent him in.. he just disappeared. Found out he had his network card just go out on him so he couldn't play. We had plenty of people ready to play. But unfortunately all of our pings weren't any good. We played first game in our map q3ctf1 and couldn't even stay alive long enuf to grab an rl. They had complete control of the map. their side AND ours. We also had a bit of a handicap besides pings. 2 of our players had never played this map before, and come to find out later (in the middle of the match) one of them hadn't even remembered that u had to have your own flag back before you could capture theirs. Players were Topaz, Fat Bastard, QBall, and me (DForce). Final Score 45 to 0.

Second game was played on q3ctf2 when it was gonna be q3ctf3, but I think they took pity on us and thought maybe it would be a closer match if they played on a map that they don't usually play. well it wasn't... with pings out numbered and our lack of practice playing together we just couldn't hold our base. wave after wave hitting us with complete accuracy and full raids of sometimes all 4 of them at once! It was sad but at least no one griped and flesh got to come in for the second round while fat bastard sat out. thanks fat. Final score 45 to 0.
